The First Historical Stand Down In
THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA
APRIL 4, 2014
This is the first communication for the planning of the April 4, 2014 Veteran Stand Down.
"This will be the first Veterans Stand Down in the Delta in the history of stand downs.
This will be in conjunction of the grand opening of the (renovated site of the Taborian Hospital, Mound Bayou, MS)
Taborian Urgent Care Center, The Grand Opening Weekend of April 4th, 5th, & 6th, 2014.
Let us make this event a successful one as the first in this area. I have been in contact with the providers awarded funding for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF) Grant to provide to homeless Veterans stability in housing for counties throughout the Mississippi area. In addition, grantees may also provide time-limited payments to third parties (e.g., landlords, utility companies, moving companies, and licensed child care providers) if these payments help Veteran families stay in or acquire permanent housing on a sustainable basis.
One of the things I have found out in Veterans Stand Down is that the Homeless Veterans attending on that day may be out of other counties throughout Mississippi, having identified those providers will help in directing the Veterans to the agency that can complete the Intake completion process, and fulfill the stipulation of their grant application, for the stand down, so that we can set a table up for your agency on that day, as well as to identify all participants. If you will need a (Private) area for interviews, be sure to let us know, as well as any other needs, such as WIFI internet, etc,,, Please identify any Volunteers from your agency who would like to help in this event."
